Beaches and walks

Blegberry and the surrounding areas have many beautiful walks through wooded valleys, green lanes and on the beaches. A ten minute walk across the farm will take you to Berry Beach with its sandy gullies and countless rock pools to explore. There are many circular walks through leafy green lanes, ancient woodland footpaths, bridleways and the south west coast path taking in sights such as Hartland Point Lighthouse, Damehole Point where the final scene of the film "King Arthur" was shot starring Kiera Knightley and Clive Owen, Berry Head and Blackpool Mill where much of the recent BBC series "Sense and Sensibility" was filmed.

A forty minute walk from Blegberry along the coast path will take you to Hartland Quay with its Maritime Museum, gift shop and The Wreckers Retreat pub with its family friendly beach and breathetaking views. Why not enjoy a traditional pub lunch and a pint and then meander your way back through the beautiful ancient Abbey woods. It is sometimes possible with prior arrangement to collect those guests who do not feel like the walk back to the Farm.

By car there are many more beaches and walks around the area to explore. Sandy beaches such as Bude, Sandymouth and Westward Ho! are all within a 20min drive away. A little further are the National Parks of Dartmoor and Exmoor.
